YOUR BIOENERGETICS PRACTITIONER

Carrie Martin

Bioenergetic Therapy addresses all the systems of the body to restore the body’s natural capacity to heal, including the:

  • Energetic body

  • Nervous system

  • Physical body

  • Mind/Will

  • Spirit

As a Bioenergetics practitioner, I work to bring these systems into alignment through intuitive light-touch bodywork, breathwork, and movement.

My Journey

Caring for others is deeply gratifying and a fundamental part of who I am. However, after spending 25 years on the frontlines of healthcare as a nurse, I’d grown increasingly disillusioned with the system. Physical signs and symptoms, lab values, and medications were central to determining patient treatment, often at the expense of a patient’s mental health, human spirit and their capacity to truly heal. I wondered if these “blinders” in care were contributing to less-than-optimal outcomes, especially in the long term.

I didn’t only experience this professionally. For 20 years while working as a nurse and raising my family, I suffered from chronic pain, anxiety, depression and the effects of childhood trauma. In a compartmentalized health system that tends to ignore the complexities of whole person health, I was unsure where to find the resources I needed and began to feel a sense of hopelessness. It was time to explore alternatives.

With an eye toward whole-person well-being, I began looking outside of traditional medicine, studying modalities including health coaching, Healing Touch, and Bioenergetics Therapy. Bioenergetics, in particular, ignited my hope as I witnessed the profound power of integrating the mind-body-spirit connection in pursuing overall well-being.

Why Bioenergetics?

As energetic beings, we can’t ignore that our experiences, our environment, and the energetic systems of others can influence our behavior, emotions, and health. We’re wired to subconsciously pick up on energetic cues in our environment. It’s a built-in safety mechanism. (Think about it the next time you walk into a room, and ask yourself how the room feels. Does it feel heavy? Uplifting? Safe? Cozy? Anxious?)

Trauma, chronic stress, and emotions get stored in the body’s biofield. Like an off-key piano, the body’s energy flow and functions are disrupted and become imbalanced, leading to issues like unexplained pain, disease, unhealthy behavior patterns, and more.

Bioenergetics removes these interferences, restoring our body’s natural healing potential and helping us to tune into the authentic higher spiritual selves we are designed to be—a place of more joy, love, and peace, which reverberates to those around us.

On a Personal Note

I’m blessed with a large, active family, including seven children and four grandchildren…and counting!

For fun, I enjoy cooking with friends and family, gardening, being in nature, and doing yoga. My husband and I particularly love spending time outside hiking and traveling to see family and friends.

I’d love to get to know more about you, too!
